DO YOU FEEL LIKE…

Life has shifted, through illness, loss, or change, and you’re still trying to find your footing.

You’re juggling a lot, but it never quite feels like enough. Rest feels earned, not allowed.

Your work, roles, or direction don’t fit the way they used to, and you’re unsure what that means now.

A place to slow things down.

You don’t have to be in crisis to need a place to pause.

Many of the people I work with are used to carrying responsibility well; showing up, keeping things moving, and often putting their own needs aside.

In our work together, we slow the pace, pay attention to what’s actually happening, and respond with more intention. That might mean noticing long-standing patterns, working through a specific experience, or allowing space to pause. My office is located in downtown Barrie, Ontario, and virtual services are offered across Ontario

MY COUNSELING CORNERSTONES

compassion

I work with care, steadiness, and respect for how complex people’s lives actually are. There’s room here for uncertainty, mixed feelings, and the parts of your story that don’t fit neatly. You don’t have to arrive with things figured out.

metaphors

Sometimes the clearest way to understand something isn’t by naming it directly. I often use metaphors as a way of thinking things through. They give us a bit of distance, and often, a new angle.

humour

I take the work seriously, but not myself. There’s room for seriousness and lightness. Sometimes humour helps loosen the grip of a problem, shift perspective, or simply make the work feel more human.

Living room with a tan couch, yellow and patterned pillows, a glass coffee table, a white cabinet with books and a hanging plant, a black TV on the wall, a radiator below the TV, a mirror leaning against the wall, a ceiling light with a white globe, wood flooring, and decorative ceiling tiles.

You might be here if…

You’re living with chronic pain/illness or cancer and want support that understands how deeply these experiences affect daily life

You’re managing anxiety, burnout, or ongoing stress and you’re still showing up, getting things done, and feeling exhausted underneath it all.

You’re a first responder or work in a role where urgency and responsibility never really switch off.

You’re at a point where something isn’t quite working anymore and something needs to shift.

Hi, I’m Jess

BA, BSW, MSW, RSW

I’m a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist offering thoughtful, down-to-earth therapy for adults navigating illness, overwhelm, change, grief, and the exhaustion that comes from doing a lot on your own.

My work is relational and collaborative; I blend evidence-based approaches within a warm, grounded, human style. I pay attention to context, patterns, and the parts of you that don’t always get airtime.

Therapy here isn’t about quick fixes or tidy answers, it’s about making space for the full picture and figuring out what actually helps.

Therapy doesn’t have to start with certainty.
